Heavy cotton Sweats Using fabric purchased from a local fabric store, I used a pair of sweatpants I liked as a template to create 27oz cotton sweatpants with a small pocket.
Trying to avoid having to fish a drawstring through the waistband, I used grommets to loop a rope around the waist. With my first attempt at any side-seam pocket, I wasn’t satisfied with the result and would attempt another in the next version.

Heavy cotton micros003
For the third style in the heavy cotton line, I plan to make a pair of micro shorts. These shorts will feature the improved iterations of the previous versions’ features.
I am inclined to keep the semi-straight leg and continue the unisex shape, similar to the other two garments in this collection.
Tiny key/lighter pocket was too small and awkward to use, almost entirely useless
Moving closer to the warmer months, over-the-knee shorts became the second use of this fabric.
I love baggy, oversized shorts, but I always feel like I am swimming in them past the knee. Keeping the waist measurements roughly the same, I slimmed the thighs and leg opening for a comfortable fit without looking too casual.
To make the waist more comfortable, a thicker waistband was added. For my second side-seam pocket attempt, I was stoked at the result and finished the garment with only one pocket, which I regret not doing on both sides.
